Eco-Friendly Living: Starting Somewhere

Updated: May 17

I will never be the person that claims to live the greenest life or that I know all of the best practices when it comes to it. I'm a GenX kid though - you know, that kind of middle of the road group that starting hearing more about environmental issues growing up, but weren't necessarily leading the charge in our younger years. That being said, I've always had an affinity for animals. Things like the Exxon Valdez and seeing how plastics harm animals and sea life were traumatizing to someone in elementary and middle school years - they are even today! But I remember being pissed off about it, even then.

Hypocrisy at it's best?

Well, not necessarily. It's important to acknowledge that we all have room for improvement when it comes to living a more sustainable lifestyle. While it may seem hypocritical to care about the environment and not always practice what we preach, it's important to remember that change is a process and it takes time. It's also important to recognize that there are often barriers to living a completely green lifestyle, such as financial constraints or lack of access to certain resources. However, that shouldn't stop us from doing what we can and taking small steps towards reducing our impact on the environment. Every little bit counts, and it's important to remember that we are all in this together.

What's next

I obviously have a lot to learn and I'm taking my own personal steps to make improvements. It's important for each of us to find our own way of contributing to a healthier planet, regardless of where we are in our journey towards sustainability. Whether it's something as simple as using reusable bags or as significant as supporting organizations that work towards environmental causes, every action we take matters. Let's continue to learn, grow, and take action towards a more sustainable future for ourselves and the generations to come. We owe it to our planet, and to the animals we care so deeply about.

I'll keep posting and sharing my thoughts, ideas, improvements and any other fun things that flow in to my mind. I hope you'll come back and enjoy more of the story! Leave me a comment and subscribe so you'll stay in the loop with blogs, news and new products!
